Method Validation – Chemical Testing

 Course Description

Method validation is the process of defining the performance required from an analytical method and confirming that the method under consideration has performance capabilities consistent with what the application requires. Implicit in this is that it will be necessary to evaluate the method’s performance capabilities.

Method validation establishes documented evidence that the procedure adopted for a test is fit for the intended purpose in terms of quality, reliability, and consistency of results. It is an essential part of establishing and ensuring the quality of analytical data. It is a requirement of the ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation standard. Method validation should always be a planned activity.
